Fashion for Breakfast: Fashion Meets Philanthropy

By Katie Jackson In the latest Fashion for Breakfast series—held at the swank Cecconi’s restaurant at Soho Beach House—President and Founder of Style Saves Rachael Russell (featured in MSM’s July/August issue!) moderated a conversation with hosts iShine365, Goêt, AURate New York, and Gee Beauty. Style Saves is a non-profit organization that raises funds in order to provide back-to-school clothing necessities for in-need children. Russell’s annual Style Saves Swim fashion show fundraiser will take place this Friday at the Miami Beach Edition in which each of the hosts, in addition to Regine Chevallier, Jaimie Nicole Jewelry, and Kai Lani, will participate. During last Friday’s Fashion for Breakfast, Russell asked each host to discuss the foundation of their brands, what trends they love for the summer season, and what philanthropy means to them. The discussion allowed attendees to learn about the hosts on a deeper and more personal level. After the discussion, attendees were able to peruse Goêt’s latest eyewear collection, AURate’s luxury jewelry designs, and have their makeup touched up by the founders of Gee Beauty. 11th Annual IRIE Weekend Recap

Photography by Omar Vega and Thaddeaus McAdams The annual IRIE Weekend took place from June 18th-20th and included a multitude of events and sponsors with one goal in common: to raise funds and awareness for great causes. One of them being the IRIE Foundation which provides at-risk youth with various programs to help them lead positive lives.  IRIE Weekend kicked-off with the #Inspire Kids Golf Clinic at the Miami Beach Golf Club with Austin Mahone as the special guest. Benefitting IRIE Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, The Motivational Edge and South Florida After School All Stars, the children supported by these extraordinary causes were also in attendance. The night concluded with a dinner honoring DJ IRIE by Merrill Lynch, and later with the Hublot VIP concert in which included performances by Natalie La Rose and Wyclef Jean.  The JEEP 11th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament took place on Friday with Target On The Green Tent. The long list of celebrity golfers included Anthony Mackie, Omar Benson Miller, Alonzo Mourning, and Reggie Bush. The day ended with Stoli Elit at LIV Nightclub, with a performance by Jermaine Dupri to cap the night off.  On Saturday, a special appearance was made by Pitbull at the IRIE Weekend BBQ Beach Bash, presented by Mountain Dew. The event consisted of delicious treats made by Chef G. Garvin and cocktails by Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey. The wonderful weekend came to a close with DJ IRIE’s birthday hosted by Timbaland and presented by Beck’s with music by Lil Jon.  With all the fantastic events and celebrity appearances, it’s still safe to say the best part about IRIE Weekend was raising over $50,000 in proceeds. Hausammann Gallery Opens in Wynwood

By Gisel Habibnejad Photography by Korey Davis Video by Alex Medina, Voiceover by Jessica Faroy Last Saturday, the Hausammann Gallery’s Wynwood location opened its doors to the public for the first time. The event was co-sponsored by MSM, Lolea, and Bastille. To celebrate, artist Fernando Carlo, Jr. (also known as Cope2), left the audience in awe as he performed a live painting session while his latest work, Power of Influence, adorned every wall of the gallery. The Bronx native began his career as an artist in 1978 and is internationally known as the founder of graffiti art. With notable collaborations with Adidas and Time Magazine under his belt, the Hausammann Gallery couldn’t think of a better artist to kickoff the start of a new chapter. Attendees included lots of Miami natives and even drew audiences hailing all the way from New York, who expressed their beliefs of Wynwood rising to become the new art capital of the world. The original Hausammann Gallery was founded in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy by Renato Hausammann. Today, the gallery is still kept close to the heart of the family as it is managed by the third generation, Beatrice and Federico Hausammann. With the help, of their mother, Gioia, the gallery keeps its traditional family values alive.  For more information, please visit www.hausammanngallery.com
